IDF Updates – September 12th

IDF: Following the sirens that sounded over the past hour in the western Galilee area, approximately 15 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the projectiles were intercepted and fallen projectiles were identified in areas adjacent to Matzuva and Mitzpe Hila. No injuries were reported.
In addition, a fallen projectile was identified in the area of Rmaych in Lebanese territory.

Israel Fire and Rescue Services are currently operating in several areas to extinguish fires that were caused by falling projectiles adjacent to Matzuva and Mitzpe Hila.

Earlier today (Thursday), the IAF struck a Hezbollah launcher in the area of Majdal Zoun that posed a threat to Israeli civilians, as well as a Hezbollah military structure in the area of Maroun El Ras in southern Lebanon.

IDF: Earlier today, a report was received regarding two Israeli civilians who were on a faulty civilian vessel, which drifted toward Lebanon’s maritime area.
Upon receiving the report, the Israeli Navy and Air Force were deployed to the area.

After identifying and contacting the vessel, the Israeli Navy began a rescue operation and returned the civilian vessel to the sovereign waters of the State of Israel.

IDF: Yesterday (Wednesday), with the direction of IDF and ISA intelligence, the IAF conducted a precise strike on terrorists who were operating inside a command and control center embedded within a compound that previously served as the Al Jaouni School in the area of Nuseirat in central Gaza.

Upon receiving reports claiming that local Palestinian UNRWA workers were killed as a result of the strike, the IDF requested that the agency provide details and names of the workers, in order to thoroughly review the claim. To date, no answers have been provided by UNRWA despite repeated requests.

Thus far, a number of Hamas terrorists were confirmed to have been eliminated in the strike, including:

1. Aysar Karadia, a terrorist in Hamas’ Military Wing and Internal Security Forces.

2. Muhammad Adnan Abu Zayd, a terrorist in Hamas’ Military Wing who was responsible for launching mortars at IDF troops and the State of Israel, previously served as an operative in Hamas’ naval forces, and was simultaneously an UNRWA employee.

3. Bassem Majed Shaheen, the head of a terrorist cell in Hamas’ Military Wing who took part in the October 7th Massacre in southern Israel.

4. Amar al-Jadili, a terrorist in Hamas’ Military Wing and Internal Security Forces.

5. Akram Saber al-Ghalaydi, a terrorist in Hamas’ Military Wing and Internal Security Forces.

6. Muhammad Issa Abu al-Amir, a terrorist in Hamas’ Military Wing who took part in the October 7th Massacre in southern Israel.

7. Sharif Salam, a terrorist in Hamas’ Military Wing.

8. Yasser Ibrahim Abu Sharar, a terrorist in Hamas’ Military Wing and an operative in Hamas’ emergency bureau in Nuseirat, who was simultaneously an UNRWA employee.

9. Ayad Matar, a terrorist in Hamas’ Military Wing and simultaneously an UNRWA employee.


IDF: The IAF struck and eliminated Ahmad Al-Jabr, a terrorist in Hezbollah’s “Golan Terrorist Network”, Hezbollah’s terror cell in Syria, in the area of Quneitra.

In an additional strike in the area of Al Rafeed in southern Syria, the IDF struck a terrorist who advanced terror activities against the State of Israel and operated with Iranian cooperation and direction.

Earlier today (Thursday), a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanese territory into the area of Shomera in northern Israel was successfully intercepted by the IDF Aerial Defense Array. No injuries were reported.

Following the sirens that sounded at 14:21 in the Upper Galilee area, several explosive UAVs that crossed from Lebanon fell near the area of Keren Naftali.

Following the sirens that sounded at 16:45 in the area of Avivim, it was determined to be a false identification.

IDF: The IDF’s 162nd Division Has Dismantled the Rafah Brigade of the Hamas Terrorist Organization

The troops of the 162nd Division have been conducting precise, intelligence-based, targeted operations in the Rafah area over the last few months. So far, the troops have eliminated over 2,000 terrorists and destroyed approximately 13 kilometers of underground tunnel routes. During these operations, the troops have dismantled the Rafah Brigade of the Hamas terrorist organization.

In recent weeks, the Nahal Brigade, Givati Brigade, 401st Brigade, Yahalom Unit, and Shayetet 13 have been operating in the Tel al-Sultan area. During the operation, over 250 terrorists were eliminated, including the Commander of the Tel al-Sultan Battalion, Mahmoud Hamdan, and most of the battalion’s chain of command.

The troops destroyed 80% of the underground tunnel routes located near and beneath the Philadelphi Corridor. The division’s engineering forces and the Yahalom Unit continue to locate and destroy underground tunnel routes and terrorist infrastructure in the area.

IDF: Over the past day, the IAF struck Hezbollah military structures in the areas of Aitaroun, Maryamine, and Chihine in southern Lebanon.

Additionally, the IAF struck a Hezbollah launcher in the area of Zibqin in southern Lebanon, from which launches were conducted toward Israeli territory in the past.
