IDF Updates – October 13th

IDF: A reservist from the 9920th Battalion, 6th Brigade, was severely injured today (Sunday) during combat in southern Lebanon.

In a separate incident, an officer who was with the 9220th Battalion, 6th Brigade, was severely injured today during combat in southern Lebanon.

Furthermore, multiple soldiers were lightly and moderately injured during the incidents.

The soldiers were evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment, their families have been notified.


IDF: The IDF Apprehended a Hezbollah Terrorist in Southern Lebanon

During IDF limited, localized, targeted raids based on precise intelligence in the southern Lebanon area, soldiers discovered an underground tunnel shaft in a building leading to a hideout area for terrorists with an adjacent exit shaft.

The troops encircled the building, scanned the tunnel shaft, and discovered an underground compound at a depth of approximately 7 meters and a 50-meter hideout area, where a Hezbollah terrorist was embedded alongside weapons and equipment for a long-term stay.

After the terrorist surrendered and was apprehended, the soldiers interrogated him on-site and then transferred him to a detention facility for further questioning within Israel.

IDF troops continue their operations in the area.

IDF: As of 15:00, approximately 115 projectiles that were fired by the Hezbollah terrorist organization have crossed from Lebanon into Israel today (Sunday, October 13th).

The IDF will continue to defend the State of Israel and its people against the threat posed by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.


IDF: Over 100 Terrorists Eliminated and Underground Infrastructure Destroyed During the 146th Division’s Targeted Raids in Southern Lebanon

Over the past week, the reserve forces of the 146th Division have been engaged in dismantling underground infrastructure in southern Lebanon. The forces identified dozens of tunnel shafts in rough, mountainous terrain that led to underground infrastructure, combat sites, and Hezbollah posts used to carry out attacks on Israel in recent months.

To date, in targeted raids and ground operations in southern Lebanon, the division’s forces have eliminated over 100 terrorists and located and destroyed dozens of tunnel shafts and terrorist infrastructure. Additionally, more than 50 rocket launchers and over 60 Hezbollah comman…


IDF: Earlier today (Sunday), a large barrage of anti-tank missiles was fired toward IDF troops in southern Lebanon.

During the attack, two IDF soldiers were severely injured and multiple other soldiers were lightly and moderately injured. Their families have been notified.

An initial review showed that an IDF tank that was trying to evacuate injured soldiers while still under fire backed several meters into a UNIFIL post.

Once the enemy fire stopped, and following the evacuation of the injured soldiers, the tank left the post.

During the incident, a smoke screen was used to provide cover for the evacuation of the injured soldiers. IDF soldiers maintained coordination with UNIFIL.
Throughout the entirety of the incident, no danger was posed to UNIFIL forces by the IDF activity.


IDF: Changes to the IDF Defensive Guidelines:

Following a situational assessment, it was determined that as of today (Sunday) at 20:00, changes will be made to the Home Front Command’s defensive guidelines.

As part of the changes, it was decided that in the areas of the southern and northern Golan (with the exceptions of Katzrin and Kidmat Tsvi), the activity scale will be changed from Limited to Partial Activity. Furthermore, in the HaAmakim area (Bustan al-Marj Regional Council, Afula, Gilboa Regional Council, Shibli-Umm al-Ghanam, Kfar Tavor, and some of the communities in the Jezreel Valley Regional Council – Merhavia, Ein Dor, and Gazit), the communities within the Megiddo Regional Council and Yokne’am Illit in the Wadi Ara area, the activity scale will be changed from Partial to Full Activity, with a restriction on gatherings of over 2000 people.

The rest of the country’s guidelines remain unchanged.
