IDF Updates – December 6th

IDF: Yesterday (Thursday), the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, hosted the Chief of Defence of the Bundeswehr, General (* * * *) Carsten Breuer, as his official guest.

The two discussed recent operational events, with an emphasis on the northern front, the strengthening cooperation between the armies, and readiness for threats near and far.

The Chief of the General Staff expressed his appreciation to the Chief of Defence of the Bundeswehr for their shared commitment to enhancing regional stability and security in the Middle East.

IDF: Following the sirens that sounded at 10:49 in Kfar Yuval and Ma’ayan Baruch and at 10:56 in Kfar Szold, northern Israel, a suspicious aerial target was intercepted by the IAF. The details are under review.


IDF: IDF Activity Along the Western Border in Southern Lebanon: Troops Locate and Destroy Launcher Aimed at Israel

The 146th Division, including forces of the 300th and 226th Brigades, are deployed along the western border in southern Lebanon. They continue to operate to defend Israeli communities near the border in coordination with local defense units.

During their operations, the troops located and destroyed launchers aimed at Israeli territory, as well as a truck equipped with a missile launcher, mortars, dozens of rockets, crates of ammunition, and Kalashnikov (AK-47) rifles.

The IDF operates in southern Lebanon in accordance with the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, while adhering to the terms of the ceasefire. It remains deployed in the area and will act decisively against any threat to the State of Israel and its citizens.

IDF: Based on the situational assessment that has been ongoing since yesterday in the General Staff and Northern Command, and following developments in the internal conflict in Syria, the IDF is reinforcing aerial and ground forces in the Golan Heights area.
IDF troops are deployed along the border and the IDF is monitoring developments and is prepared for all scenarios, offensive and defensive alike. The IDF will not tolerate threats near the Israeli border and will thwart any threat against the State of Israel.

Joint IDF and ISA announcement:

The IDF and ISA eliminated the Head of Hamas’ Aerial Unit in Gaza City, one of the organizers of the aerial infiltration into Israeli territory on October 7th

In a joint IDF and ISA precise operation on December 3rd, 2024, the terrorist Nidal Al-Najar, Head of Hamas’ Aerial Unit in Gaza City and head of Hamas’ Aerial Defense Unit in Gaza, was eliminated.

Al-Najar was one of the masterminds of the aerial infiltration into Israel on October 7th. Moreover, throughout the war, Al-Najar was one of the leaders of the attacks against the State of Israel and IDF troops operating in central Gaza, including by means of explosive drone and UAV attacks toward IDF troops.

The IDF and ISA will continue to target anyone who took part in terror activities against Israeli civilians and IDF troops.
