IDF Updates – March 18th

IDF: Earlier today (Monday), two terrorists were attempting to plant an explosive device in the ground in proximity to IDF troops in the area of Bureij in central Gaza. The IDF struck the terrorists.


IDF: A short while ago, the IDF struck Hezbollah military sites in which Hezbollah terrorists and weapons were identified.

Terror activity at these sites poses a threat to the State of Israel and constitutes a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

The IDF will continue to operate in order to remove any threat to the State of Israel and will prevent any attempt by Hezbollah.


IDF: The IDF is currently striking military targets in southern Syria, including command centers and military sites containing weapons and military vehicles belonging to the old Syrian Regime, which they are attempting to make reusable.

The presence of military assets in southern Syria poses a threat to the State of Israel. The IDF will not allow the presence of military threats in southern Syria and will operate against it.


Joint IDF and ISA Announcement:

In accordance with the political echelon, the IDF and ISA are currently conducting extensive strikes on terror targets belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip. Details to follow.


IDF: Following a situational assessment, changes will be made to the IDF Home Front Command’s defensive guidelines as of 02:00 today (Tuesday). As part of the changes, the areas of the communities near the Gaza Strip will change from Full Activity to Limited activity, meaning educational activity will not be allowed.

The areas of the Western Negev and Western Lachish remains unchanged – Full Activity.

Guidelines published on the official Home Front Command channels must be followed by the public. Full guidelines are updated on the National Emergency Portal and the Home Front Command app.

Joint IDF and ISA Announcement:

The IDF and ISA are continuing to strike terror targets belonging to the Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations across the Gaza Strip.
The targets struck over the past few hours include terrorist cells, launch posts, weapons stockpiles, and additional military infrastructure used by these terror organizations to plan and execute attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers.

At this time, the IDF and ISA are striking terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip.


IDF: Overnight (Tuesday), IDF, ISA, and Israel Police forces began operating in Nablus as part of the ongoing counterterrorism operation in northern Samaria.

During the activities, the forces apprehended three wanted individuals, questioned suspects, and confiscated weapons.

Throughout the night, security forces carried out additional counterterrorism activities across Judea and Samaria, during which they apprehended more than ten wanted suspects and seized numerous weapons.

During an operation by the Israel Police in Qalqilya, terrorists opened fire toward the forces. The forces eliminated one of the terrorists and struck additional terrorists.

The apprehended suspects and the confiscated weapons were transferred to the Israel Police’s Samaria and Judea District and the ISA for further processing.

IDF: A short while ago, two cannons in southern Syria that constituted a threat to the State of Israel were struck by the IDF in the area of Khan Arnabeh in southern Syria.

The presence of weapons in southern Syria poses a threat to the State of Israel. The IDF will not allow a military threat from southern Syria and will operate against the threat.

The IDF and ISA Eliminated the Head of the Hamas Government in the Gaza Strip and Additional Terrorists

Over the past day (Tuesday), the IDF struck dozens of terror targets and terrorists throughout the Gaza Strip, including mid-level and senior-ranking terrorists in Hamas’ Political Bureau. The strikes were conducted to damage Hamas’ governmental and military capabilities, and to remove threats to the State of Israel and its citizens.

As part of the changes, the areas of the communities near the Gaza Strip and some of the communities in the areas of the Western Negev and Western Lachish will change from Limited Activity to Partial Activity, meaning educational activity can be held in a place where you can reach a protected space in case of an alert.

IDF: Initial report – Sirens sounded in several areas in Israel following a projectile that was launched from Yemen. The details are under review.


IDF: Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in central and southern Negev, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted by the IAF prior to crossing into Israeli territory. 
Sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol.
