IDF Updates – July 9th


IDF: During a joint IDF and ISA activity in Jenin, IDF soldiers guided by IDF and ISA intelligence, operated in the area of Al-Yamun and apprehended a terrorist who was planning to establish a terrorist network in the area.

Simultaneously, IDF soldiers apprehended four terrorists armed with six different weapons in the area of Bir al-Basha.

In the Etzion, Judea, and Binyamin Regional Brigades, six suspects wanted for terrorist activity were apprehended on Monday.

The wanted individuals and confiscated weapons were transferred to the security forces for further processing. No IDF injuries were reported.

The IDF Eliminated the Head of Firepower of the Zahrani Sector in Hezbollah’s Badr Unit

Last night (Tuesday), the IDF struck and eliminated the Head of Firepower of the Zahrani sector in Hezbollah’s Badr Unit, Hussein Ali Muzhir, in the area of Al-Babliyah in southern Lebanon.

As part of his role, Hussein advanced numerous attacks toward the State of Israel and IDF troops, and recently he was involved in Hezbollah’s attempts to establish artillery capabilities in southern Lebanon.

Hussein Ali Muzhir’s activities constitute a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

The IDF will continue to operate in order to remove any threat posed to the state of Israel.


IDF: IDF Troops Continue Operational Activity Throughout the Gaza Strip: Cache of Explosives and Mines Hidden in a Civilian Structure Destroyed

IDF troops, guided by IDF and ISA intelligence, continue to operate against the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip.

In the northern Gaza Strip, IDF troops continue to operate in the areas of Shejaiya and Zeitoun to eliminate terrorists and locate weapons. Over the past day, the troops located and dismantled a cache of explosive devices and landmines that were hidden in a civilian structure.

Simultaneously, IDF troops eliminated a terrorist cell, dismantled military structures used for terrorist purposes, and struck a Hamas weapons facility site.

In the southern Gaza Strip, IDF troops identified and eliminated a terrorist cell. Additionally, over the past day, the troops located several shafts and dismantled terrorist infrastructure in the al-Janina area in Rafah.

Over the past day, in cooperation with ground troops, the IAF struck over 100 terror targets throughout the Gaza Strip, including terrorists, bobby-trapped structures, weapons storage facilities, anti-tank missile launch posts, underground tunnels, as well as additional terrorist infrastructure sites.


Joint IDF and Israel Police Announcement:

Overnight, several terrorists from Surif hurled rocks and set vehicles on fire adjacent to Bat Ayin.

Upon receiving the report, the IDF, Fire and Rescue Services, and Israel Police forces were dispatched to the scene in order to manage the incident and extinguish the fire.

Subsequently, the forces began a counterterrorism operation in the area of Surif, during which they apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in the attack and conducted searches at dozens of sites in the area.

Following the incident, an inquiry was opened by the Israel Police. Efforts to locate additional terrorists and secure the area are ongoing.

Israeli security forces will continue to operate to thwart terrorism in Judea and Samaria and to bring terrorists to justice, in order to ensure the safety of the civilians in the area and the State of Israel.


IDF: Dismantling of Hezbollah Terrorist Infrastructure Sites in Southern Lebanon

Troops of the 91st Division continue their defensive mission along the Lebanese border, with the goal of protecting the security of Israeli citizens and eliminating any threat from within the state’s territory. The forces are neutralizing terrorists and dismantling Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon, under the direction of the division’s fire brigade.

Following intelligence information and the identification of Hezbollah weapons and terrorist infrastructure in several areas of southern Lebanon, the soldiers launched special, targeted operations to dismantle them and prevent Hezbollah from reestablishing itself in the area.

In one of the operations in the Jabal Blat ridge, troops from the 300th Brigade located a compound containing weapons depots and firing positions belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization. The reservist soldiers dismantled the terrorist infrastructure.

In another operation, reservist soldiers from the 9th Brigade located weapons hidden in thicketed terrain in the Labbouneh area, including a multi-barrel launcher, a heavy machine gun, and dozens of explosive devices.
The troops confiscated and dismantled the military equipment and weapons that were located in the area.

In the area, an underground structure used for storing weapons was located, and the infrastructure was dismantled in an engineering operation by the brigade’s troops.

The IDF continues to operate in order to eliminate threats against the State of Israel and to prevent attempts by the Hezbollah terror organization to establish a presence, in accordance with the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.

IDF: Under the command of the 162nd Division, the Givati Brigade combat team has joined the 99th Division forces and begun operations to encircle Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip. The forces are operating to eliminate terrorists and to dismantle terrorist infrastructure and Hamas’ military capabilities in the area.

IDF: In an Aerial, Mounted, and Ground Exercise: Footage From the 210th Division’s Exercise in the Golan Heights Area

Troops from the 210th Division, including the 810th Brigade, the 474th Brigade, and the 3rd Brigade, completed today (Wednesday) an exercise in the Golan Heights area and the Mount Hermon summit, led by the Ground Forces Training Center.

As part of the exercise, troops in both mandatory and reserve service were called up and exercised transitioning from routine to a state of emergency through responding to extreme scenarios: including defending communities, combat at military posts, and offensive actions against threats. 

In addition, troops from the Medical Corps simulated the evacuation of hundreds of injured individuals – both by land and air – from combat zones and from communities, in multiple simultaneous incidents.

Throughout the exercise, Israeli Air Force helicopters carried out troop transport missions, evacuation of injured, and fire support in direct coordination with the division’s troops.

The division’s exercise was conducted in cooperation with the local authorities, the communities’ defense departments, the Israel Fire and Rescue Services, Magen David Adom, and other security entities.
