IDF: Dismantling Terror Tunnels, Striking Terrorist Infrastructure and Eliminating Terrorists Who Took Part in the October 7th Massacre
Today (Thursday), in accordance with operational planning and the combat timeline, the 98th Division has completed its mission in the northern Gaza Strip after intense combat and is now preparing for additional missions.
For several months, troops of the 98th Division operated deep within the terror strongholds in the Gaza Strip, conducting combat activities in the areas of Khan Yunis, Shejaiya, and Zeitoun.
Over the past month, while operating in Shejaiya and Zeitoun, the troops focused on dismantling terrorist infrastructure and weapons, above and below ground.
As part of the activity in the northern Gaza Strip, over 1,500 terrorist infrastructure sites were dismantled and dozens of terrorists were eliminated. The troops dealt a significant blow to Hamas’ Shejaiya Battalion, which had attacked the communities near the Gaza Strip on October 7.
During the combat, terrorists, some of whom were involved in the brutal massacre on October 7th, were eliminated in coordinated operations between the division’s Fire Control Center, troops operating on the ground, the Israeli Air Force, and the ISA.

IDF: The Kfir Brigade Solidifies Operational Control Along the ‘Magen Oz’ Corridor: Terrorists Apprehended and the Dismantling of an Underground Tunnel Route in Khan Yunis
Troops from the Kfir Brigade, under the command of the 36th Division, are operating in southern Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip.
In recent weeks, the troops have been operating to further solidify operational control along the ‘Magen Oz’ corridor, which runs through the city of Khan Yunis and separates its eastern and western parts.
During the activity, the troops located a weapons storage facility where large amounts of fragmentation grenades, explosive devices, mortar shells, and sniper rifles were hidden.
In another activity, the troops, in coordination with Unit 504, apprehended terrorists deep within Khan Yunis, based on precise intelligence of terrorist activity and infrastructure sites in the area.
In addition, the troops, together with the Combat Engineering Corps, located and dismantled an underground tunnel route several hundred meters long in the Khan Yunis area.
Troops from the Southern Command continue to operate in the Gaza Strip in order to protect the civilians of the State of Israel, and the residents of the communities near the Gaza Strip in particular.

IDF: The Head of the Manpower Directorate, MG Dado Bar Kalifa, in coordination with Defense Minister Israel Katz and Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, has ordered the establishment of a committee to examine the support that had been provided to discharged soldiers and reservists not in active service who have taken their own lives as a result of their military service, in light of the unique challenges of the current period.
This is a unique committee that will be headed by MG (Res.) Moti Almoz, former Head of the Manpower Directorate. The committee members will include medical and mental health professionals from the IDF, legal experts, officers from the Casualty Affairs Unit, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Defense and the Department for Families, Commemoration, and Heritage.
The committee will examine systemic, ethical, and socio-national aspects related to the challenges faced by IDF service members after their discharge, including the issue of recognition and support for these individuals—along with the legal implications regarding their official recognition.
The committee is intended to ensure a thorough, responsible, sensitive, and equitable review of the support provided to service members throughout the entire duration of service and beyond.
At the conclusion of the committee’s work, the Head of the Manpower Directorate will present its findings and recommendations for approval by the Minister of Defense and the Chief of the General Staff.

The establishment of the committee is meant to ensure that the State of Israel and the IDF provide an appropriate, sensitive, and equitable response to every male and female soldier, at every stage of their lives. We will use every tool at our disposal to help, strengthen resilience, acknowledge their pain, and ensure that no one is left behind.”
IDF: Counterterrorism Activities in the Central Command: This Week, Israeli Security Forces Located and Confiscated Approximately 30 Weapons
Troops of the IDF, ISA, and the Israel Police continue to operate to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in the Central Command region.
This week, the troops thwarted terrorist activities involving the production, smuggling, and possession of illegal weapons. During the counterterrorism activities, approximately 30 weapons were located and confiscated throughout the Central Command region.
In the areas of the Judea and Etzion regional brigades, two ‘Carlo’ type weapons, various weapon parts, and additional weapons were found.
During a battalion-level activity in Anabta, in the Ephraim Regional Brigade, the troops confiscated several weapons. In the village of Al-Ram, in the Binyamin Regional Brigade, a hunting rifle was located. In Odala, in the Samaria Regional Brigade, a handgun and additional combat equipment were found. In the Menashe Regional Brigade, seven weapons were confiscated.
Israeli security forces continue to operate against terrorist organizations in order to maintain the security of Israeli civilians.

IDF: First Airdrop in Cooperation with Spain, France, and Germany: 126 Aid Packages Were Airdropped to the Gaza Strip
Today (Friday), in accordance with the directives from the political echelon and as part of the cooperation between Israel, the UAE, Jordan, Egypt, Spain, France, and Germany. The IDF, led by COGAT, is continuing the series of actions aimed at improving the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip.
Over the past few hours, 126 aid packages, containing food for the residents of both the southern and northern Gaza Strip, were airdropped by six different countries. Several countries joined the airdrop operations for the first time today, including France, Spain, and Germany.
The IDF will continue to work in order to improve the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip, along with the international community, while refuting the false claims of deliberate starvation in Gaza.

IDF: Earlier today (Sunday), a soldier in the Desert Reconnaissance Battalion (585), Southern Brigade, Gaza Division, was severely injured in an operational accident in the communities near the Gaza Strip.
The soldier was evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment and his family has been notified.
