IDF: Preventing Dozens of Cyberattacks and Targeting of Enemy Systems: IDF “CYBERDOME IX” Exercise With U.S. Cyber Command Concludes

Last week (Tuesday), the “CYBERDOME IX” exercise, which took place over two weeks in the United States, concluded.

The “CYBERDOME” exercise is the primary cyber-defense exercise conducted jointly by the U.S. Cyber Command, together with the Israel Defense Forces’ J6 and Cyber Defense Directorate, and the Intelligence Directorate.

The exercise focused on enhancing both countries’ cyber capabilities while strengthening joint cyber defense capabilities. This was achieved through various battlefield-tailored operational scenarios and on the backdrop of increasing cyber threats faced by both countries, with an emphasis on the Middle East.

As part of the exercise, a variety of offensive and defensive cyber operations were conducted. Dozens of personnel from the IDF and U.S. Cyber Command participated in the exercise. Additionally, the Head of the J6 and Cyber Defense Directorate, MG Aviad Dagan, visited the exercise.

From the remarks of the Head of the J6 and Cyber Defense Directorate, MG Aviad Dagan: “The “CYBERDOME IX” exercise illustrates the importance of cooperation between Israel and the United States in the cyber domain. It is a strategic opportunity to deepen professional ties, share knowledge and capabilities, and work together to strengthen the defense of the digital arena of both nations. This cooperation is essential for addressing the evolving threats in the cyber domain on the global stage.”

From the remarks of Brig. Gen. Matthew Lennox, Deputy Commanding General, Joint Force Headquarters – Cyber, U.S. Army Cyber Command: “We are now in our ninth iteration of the CYBERDOME series of exercises, this annual event provides a valuable opportunity for U.S. and Israeli cyber personnel to work together in a complex training environment, solidifying the bond between our two nations and fostering a shared understanding of cyber operations.”

IDF: IDF and ISA forces conducted and completed a limited operation against terrorist operatives and infrastructure in the area of the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza

Following precise intelligence regarding the location of terrorists and terrorist infrastructure in the area of the Indonesian Hospital in Jabaliya, the IDF conducted and completed a limited operation in the area overnight.

Over the past month, terrorists carried out attacks against IDF troops from the area of the hospital, including anti-tank missile attacks. Terrorists also planted explosive devices and booby traps in the area surrounding the hospital’s compound.

During the operation, a number of terrorists were apprehended, including a terrorist who invaded Israel on October 7th, and five additional terrorists were eliminated by the troops.

In order to mitigate harm to the civilian population in the area, the troops enabled and facilitated the secure evacuation of civilians, medical personnel, and patients from the area both before and during the operation. This was coordinated by COGAT with local officials in the health authority and was conducted via defined evacuation routes and with ambulances for transportation to additional hospitals in the Gaza Strip to ensure continued medical treatment.

We emphasize that the operation was conducted after multiple warnings were issued to the Gazan Health Ministry regarding terrorist activity being conducted inside the hospital. The troops operated while mitigating harm to uninvolved civilians and enabling the activities of the hospital to continue as much as possible.

This is a further example of how the Hamas terrorist organization systematically violates international law by exploiting civilian infrastructure and the Gazan population as human shields for its terrorist activities.

IDF: Following the missile attack in Jaffa on the night between Friday and Saturday, the operational examination led by the Commanding Officer of the Home Front Command, with the participation of representatives from the Israeli Air Force, was completed yesterday (Monday).

The examination revealed that the sirens were sounded at a delay for reasons that cannot be published. Lessons from the incident have been learned and implemented.

As a result of the examination, which included a review of additional incidents of interceptor missile debris falling within Israel, it was decided to adjust the areas where sirens are sounded. Therefore, sirens will be sounded in broader areas during similar incidents.

We emphasize that this defense is not hermetic, and the public must follow the life-saving instructions of the Home Front Command.

IDF: A short while ago, a Hamas launch site embedded near a UN compound in the area of Al-Shati in the Gaza Strip was struck by the IAF

Prior to the strike, evacuation warnings for civilians were carried out for their own protection.
As a result of the strike, a rocket launching out of the site was identified.

This is a further example of the Hamas terrorist organization’s systematic abuse of civilian infrastructure, UN compounds, and the Gaza population in violation of international law.
The IDF will continue to operate against Hamas in defense of the citizens of Israel.

IDF: A short while ago, with the direction of IDF and ISA intelligence, the IAF conducted a precise strike on a Hamas terrorist who was operating in the Humanitarian Area in Khan Yunis.

Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians, including the use of precise munitions, aerial surveillance, and additional intelligence.

This is a further example of the Hamas terrorist organization’s systematic abuse of civilian infrastructure and the Gaza population in violation of international law. The IDF will continue to operate against Hamas in defense of the citizens of Israel.

IDF: Initial Report – Sirens sounded in several areas in central Israel following a projectile that was launched from Yemen. The details are under review.

IDF: Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago, a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted before crossing into Israeli territory.
Sirens regarding rocket and missile launches were activated due to the possibility of falling shrapnel from the interception.
