IDF Updates – December 9th

IDF: In accordance with the situational assessment in the Northern Command, it was determined that the restrictions set this morning (Sunday) in four local communities in the northern Golan Heights (Buq’ata, Ein Qiniye, Mas’ade, and Majdal Shams) will be lifted.
As part of the changes, schools and kindergartens will resume their regular educational activities.

In addition, the closed military zone order issued this morning (Sunday) in agricultural areas in the areas of Merom Golan-Ein Zivan and Buq’ata-Khirbet Ein Hura will be lifted.

IDF: A short while ago, reports were received regarding a suspicious aerial target that fell in the area of Yavne.

IDF: 210th Division Troops Continue Defensive Activity

Yesterday (Sunday), forces of the 210th Division took steps to proactive ensure the defense of Golan in light of internal events in Syria.

Paratroopers’ forces, joined by other troops, are conducting defense activities in the field to prevent any threat and are deployed in key positions within the buffer zone.

Additionally, engineering, infantry, and armored forces are operating under the command of the 474th and the 810th regional brigades, and are stationed along Israel’s border with Syria to secure the area.

IDF: Several armed individuals were identified during IDF counterterrorism activity in Tubas to apprehend a wanted suspect and to thwart terrorist infrastructure sites. An IAF aircraft struck and eliminated them.

IDF soldiers then conducted a targeted raid in the area of the strike and confiscated the weapons that were located on the armed individuals, including an M-16 rifle, two guns, and a grenade.

IDF forces continue to operate to thwart terrorist activities in the area.

During the incident in which Staff Sergeant Ido Zano, Staff Sergeant Barak Daniel Halpern, and Sergeant Omri Cohen fell, one soldier from the 5353 Unit, Artillery Corps, and a reservist soldier from 424th Battalion, 84th Brigade, were severely injured.

The soldiers were evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment. Their families have been notified.
