IDF: Following the sirens sounded in northern Israel regarding a hostile aircraft infiltration, it was determined to be a false identification. The incident has concluded.

A short while ago, IDF fighter jets struck a Hezbollah military compound in the area of Bint Jbeil and a Hezbollah observation post in the area of Markaba.
In addition, yesterday (Friday), IDF fighter jets struck a military command center and military site in Lebanon used by Hezbollah’s aerial defense unit.

Hezbollah’s military activity south of the Litani River in Lebanon, including the use and storage of armaments, is a clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. The IDF will continue to defend Israel’s borders from any threat.

Joint IDF and ISA announcement:

A significant underground Hamas intelligence asset and weapons inside offices—These findings were found within UNRWA facilities

Over the last two weeks, IDF and ISA forces have been conducting a division-level targeted raid on terror targets in northern and central Gaza.

The forces operated in the areas of Shati and Tel al-Hawa in northern Gaza. Approximately 120 Hamas terrorists were killed and 20 terrorist infrastructure sites were destroyed as part of the operation.

Following ISA intelligence, the forces arrived at a tunnel shaft near an UNRWA school. The shaft led to an underground terror tunnel that served as a significant asset of Hamas’ military intelligence and passed under the building that serves as UNRWA’s main headquarters in the Gaza Strip.

The tunnel was 700 meters long and 18 meters deep and contained several blast doors. A wide variety of intelligence assets were seized during the operation. The newly-found intelligence will allow the forces to operate against additional Hamas targets. The dismantling of the tunnel weakens Hamas’ intelligence capabilities.

The forces located electrical infrastructure inside the tunnel connected to UNRWA’s main headquarters, under which the underground tunnel was located, indicating that UNRWA’s facilities supplied the tunnel with electricity.

Following these findings and based on preliminary ISA intelligence, the forces conducted a targeted raid on UNRWA’s central headquarters, which contains offices for various humanitarian and international organizations. Large quantities of weapons were found inside the rooms of the building, including rifles, ammunition, grenades and explosives. Intelligence and documents discovered in the offices of UNRWA officials confirmed that the offices had in fact also been used by Hamas terrorists.

IDF: The IDF recently facilitated the delivery of over 20 oxygen tanks and additional medical equipment to Al Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis. This operation, coordinated by officers of the Gaza Coordination and Liaison, involved collaboration with the hospital and international aid organizations.

Due to the use of the hospital by terrorists as an operational hideout, as well as the intense combat in the area near the hospital, the intricate coordination was carried out with an international aid organization and local officials in order to transfer the oxygen tanks to the designated locations, from which the IDF collected the oxygen tanks and transferred them to the hospital.

IDF: IDF troops continue to operate in the Gaza Strip; the troops identified terrorists who fired anti-tank missiles toward them and directed an aircraft to strike them

IDF troops continue to eliminate terrorists and conduct targeted raids western Khan Yunis. Simultaneously, IDF troops carried out targeted raids in central and northern Gaza. IDF naval troops struck several terror targets as part of their support to the IDF ground troops.

In central Gaza, IDF troops eliminated a terrorist who observed, approached, and fired an anti-tank missile at them. Following this, an additional anti-tank missile was fired at the troops. A short while after, the troops identified two terrorists exiting the building from which the missile was fired, and they directed an aircraft to strike the terrorists.

Additional troops directed an aircraft to strike several terror targets, including a weapons storage facility. Following the IDF strike, secondary explosions were detected, indicating the presence of a large amount of ammunition located inside the facility.

During separate operational activity in western Khan Yunis, IDF troops successfully eliminated terrorists and carried out targeted raids on terror targets, resulting in the discovery of weapons. In additional activity in Khan Yunis, IDF troops struck three weapons storage facilities and a terrorist cell that fired at them. Moreover, IDF troops carried out targeted raids on additional weapons storage facilities, eliminating terrorists, and uncovering multiple weapons.

IDF: Terrorists hiding inside the Al-Amal Hospital in Khan Yunis apprehended by IDF troops in operational activity conducted without harming patients or medical teams

Earlier this week, following intelligence from the ISA (Israel Security Agency) and the Intelligence Directorate (J2), the Givati Brigade combat team, Shayetet 13, and additional special forces carried out operational activity to apprehend terrorists hiding inside the Al-Amal Hospital in western Khan Yunis.

During the operational activity, the forces detained approximately 20 terrorists, including members of the Hamas terrorist organization who were hiding in the hospital. The detainees were transferred for further investigation by security forces in Israel.

The activity included prior coordination with the hospital, and the forces meticulously and selectively scanned the hospital without opening fire and without harming the patients or medical staff. After the operation, through the Coordination and Liaison Administration for Gaza of COGAT, the IDF facilitated the entry of dozens of oxygen cylinders donated by international organizations to the hospital’s patients.

IDF soldiers were briefed in advance in order to prevent any harm to patients, medical teams, civilians, and medical equipment, in accordance with international law.

This is further evidence of Hamas’ cynical exploitation of the Gazan civilian population, with Hamas’ use of hospitals and civilian infrastructure as shields for its terrorist operatives and activities.

The operation adds to the intense fighting in Western Khan Yunis and the intensification of ground operations in the area, during which hundreds of terrorists have been eliminated by IDF troops, and hundreds more who were apprehended after attempting to flee under the cover of the civilian population.
