IDF: Terrorist tunnels under a hotel: Hamas terrorist tunnel located under Blue Beach Hotel in the Gaza Strip

The 162nd Division’s 14th Brigade, in cooperation with the Yahalom Special Engineering Unit, operated on a Hamas infrastructure with seven tunnels shafts and inside them terrorist quarters. The infrastructure is located at the Blue Beach Hotel in the northern Gaza Strip by the beach. Yahalom Unit forces identified the tunnels’ routes using a range of methods and destroyed the infrastructure this week.

Hamas terrorists exploited the hotel as a shelter from where they planned and executed attacks both above and below ground. Many weapons were found under the hotel, including AK-47 assault rifles, explosives, and drones. During the course of combat, dozens of Hamas terrorists entrenched in the hotel fired anti-tank missiles at IDF forces, who returned fire. During the forces’ operations in the hotel area, the soldiers encountered and eliminated terrorists

Over the past few months, reservists of the 14th Battalion operated in northern Gaza Strip in three locations: north of Jabalya, Beit Hanoun, and Gaza City. During the course of combat, the soldiers destroyed weapon stockpiles, missile launch sites, and underground command centers used by Hamas.

We will achieve significant and quality results, and you have a very significant advantage over those fighting against you. There is no force in the entire Gaza Strip like yours, not personally, not institutionally, not in equipment, not in capabilities, not in training. So go ahead and push forward.”

Joint IDF and ISA announcement:

The IDF and ISA eliminated the Commander and Deputy Commander of Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion in an airstrike

Ismail Siraj, the Commander of Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion, as well as Ahmed Wehbe, his Deputy Commander, were eliminated during an IAF strike in an operation led by the Southern Command and with the direction of the IDF Military Intelligence Directorate and the ISA overnight (Friday).

Siraj, the Commander of Hamas’ Nuseirat Battalion, previously served as a Company Commander of Hamas’ Nukhba Unit and as a rocket manufacturing operative.

Siraj’s Deputy Commander, Ahmed Wehbe, assumed the position following the IDF and ISA killed the battalion’s previous Deputy Commander, Abd Al-Rahman Abed during the first weeks of the war. Wehbe held various positions, both in the field and on Hamas’ staff, including with the terrorist organization’s training program. He was also responsible for the planning and carrying out of terrorist attacks from the Gaza Strip against Israel.

During Hamas’ murderous invasion and massacre on October 7th, the Nuseirat Battalion was responsible for terror attacks on Israeli communities in southern Israel, including Kibbutz Be’eri. The battalion’s operatives have since been involved in anti-tank missile and UAV fire targeting IDF troops during the war.

IDF: IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari:

“We have a duty to defend our people, if not through diplomatic means, then through the force of arms. The diplomatic window may be short, but it’s still open.”

3 months ago today, on October 6th, Hamas in Gaza was preparing its forces to carry out one of the most brutal and barbaric attacks in history — the Hamas massacre of October 7th.
On October 8th, Hezbollah — Iran’s proxy in Lebanon — joined in to the war started by Hamas, when Hezbollah began attacking Israel from our border in the north.

Israel has been responding and will continue to respond — forcefully — to Hezbollah’s aggression.

Hezbollah is dragging Lebanon into an unnecessary war — for the sake of Hamas.

Hezbollah is seeking an escalation despite the unwanted destruction it could bring to the people of Lebanon — in addition to the unnecessary suffering it’s already bringing to the people of southern Lebanon — and for what? for the sake of Hamas.

Hezbollah is risking the future of the region — all for the sake of Hamas.

But here’s something that Hezbollah and all of Iran’s proxies should never forget:
When it comes to existential threats — Israel regards every day as though it’s October 6th, so that the Hamas massacre of October 7th never happens again. On any one of our borders.

We have a duty to defend our people, if not through diplomatic means, then through the force of arms.
The diplomatic window may be short, but it’s still open.

To those dragging the region to an unnecessary escalation, our message is clear:
The people of Israel, the people of Gaza, the people of Lebanon, and indeed the entire region — deserve a future of peace, progress and prosperity — and not the death and destruction that Hamas and Hezbollah seek.

Yesterday (Saturday), during the activity, the troops located a compound with dozens of rocket launchers, and combat engineering troops dismantled it.

In Bureij, IDF ground troops located four Nukhba terrorists loading weapons into a vehicle. An IDF UAV located the Nukhba cell entering the vehicle, and struck the terrorists and weapons. In addition, IDF drones located an armed terrorist advancing toward forces in the area and responded by striking the terrorist.

In the central Gaza Strip, IDF troops located a factory of lathes for weapons. In addition, two significant tunnel shafts were exposed in a compound in the area and adjacent to it. IDF combat engineering forces dismantled the shafts. During the activity, a number of terrorists were located and killed.

IDF: Underground tunnel route dismantled, targeted raids carried out on Islamic Jihad terror infrastructure and battle plans for the October 7th massacre located: the Yftah (11th) Brigade operating in Shejaiya

In cooperation with the Armored Corps, the Intelligence Directorate, and the Combat Engineering Corps, the 11th Brigade conducted targeted raids on terror infrastructure in the Shejaiya area in order to locate and dismantle Islamic Jihad’s tunnel shafts. During the activity in eastern Shejaiya, the forces located a tunnel shaft that led to a tunnel route and a rocket launcher nearby.

In an operation in northern Shejaiya, the forces located shafts near the residence of Ahmad Samara, an Islamic Jihad commander of terror projects in the northern Gaza Strip. Additionally, the forces found many weapons, instruction manuals, battle plans for the October 7th massacre, and Mein Kampf translated into Arabic inside the residence.

During the operation to destroy the tunnel located in the area of Samara’s residence, terrorists opened fire toward the forces and activated an explosive device inside the tunnel, attempting to attack IDF soldiers and prevent the destruction of the entire tunnel route. The forces spotted suspicious activity and retreated before the explosion occurred, returned artillery fire toward the terrorists and stopped the attack.

The forces destroyed the underground tunnel route, the rocket launcher and the weapons located, as well as twelve structures above the tunnel route that were used for terror activity, some of which were rigged with explosives.

The full statement of the Chief of the General Staff:
“The year 2024 will be challenging, we will be at war in Gaza, I don’t know if it will be all year long, we will be fighting in Gaza all year, that’s for sure, and this will also hold the other arenas, certainly in Judea and Samaria, to a certain state of alertness. The willingness to carry out terror attacks, and it will be very much in our hands how we succeed in preventing this, how we succeed in thwarting this. What is our role? Maximum determination in fighting, in thwarting, in fighting terrorism, in entering a residence, in killing the terrorist, maximum determination and values.
In the north, Hezbollah decided to enter into this war, we are exerting an increasing cost from Hezbollah all the time, they paid yesterday with seven killed, they paid yesterday with two very important targets, and we are increasing the price that they are paying. It will end with us having a responsibility, a duty, to return the residents of the north in security, not under duress, safely to their homes. It will come either by the pressure we are now applying, which is rising, and will do the job and we will create a completely different reality, or we will get to another war. We will do it, we will do it with excellency, even though we are after a long battle already, and challenges in many arenas, we will know how to do it excellently. To achieve the war goals we have a long way to go and therefore this will take time.”
