IDF Updates – July 27th

IDF: Commanding Officer of the Northern Command: “When the Moment Comes and We Go on the Offensive, It Will Be a Decisive Offensive. The Residents Have Our Back, the Citizens Have Our Back, and We are Facing and Aiming Our Weapons at the Enemy”

This week, the Commanding Officer of the Northern Command, MG Ori Gordin, visited the Golani Brigade Combat Team with the Commanding Officer of the Golani Brigade, COL Adi Ganon, and other commanders. During the visit, MG Gordin spoke with the brigade commanders who have been defending the central region of the Lebanese border for around five months.

The Golani Brigade is operating to protect the communities of the Upper Galilee and prepare for the transition to offense. The unit works in close cooperation with the security teams in the northern communities and carries out proactive operations in the field in close cooperation with IDF aerial and artillery forces in order to eliminate terrorists and target Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon.

From the remarks of the Commanding Officer of the Northern Command, MG Ori Gordin:

“Me, the Brigade Commander, the Battalion Commander, the Company Commander, all of you—we are committed to changing the security reality here in the north. The residents of Metula and all residents of the north will be able to return to their homes. The battalion and the brigade do an excellent job of completing your defensive actions. There are a lot of offensive activities in this matter. We have already eliminated more than 500 terrorists in Lebanon, the great majority of them from Hezbollah, and we have destroyed thousands of [terror] infrastructure targets. The residents have our back, the citizens have our back, and we are facing and aiming our weapons at the enemy. When the moment comes and we go on the offensive, it will be a decisive offensive. And the reality we are building now, in terms of striking the other side and pushing the enemy back, enables us to carry out this offensive in a very, very high-quality way.”

IDF: The IDF struck terrorists operating a Hamas command and control center embedded inside the Khadija School in central Gaza

A short while ago, in a strike based on precise IDF and ISA intelligence, terrorists operating in a Hamas command and control center inside the Khadija school compound in central Gaza were struck by the IAF.

Hamas terrorists used the compound as a hiding place to direct and plan numerous attacks against IDF troops and the State of Israel. In parallel, the terrorists developed and stored large quantities of weapons inside the compound.

Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians, including the use of appropriate munitions, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence.

This is a further example of the Hamas terrorist organization’s systematic violation of international law and exploitation of civilian structures and population as human shields for its attacks against the State of Israel.

IDF: The IDF struck a launch site that was prepared to launch projectiles toward Israeli territory: the IDF continues operational activity in Gaza.

Over the past day, the IAF the IAF struck dozens of terror targets in the Gaza Strip, including military structures, armed terrorist cells, and more terror infrastructure sites.
Additionally, the IAF struck and dismantled a launch site in the area of Zeytoun that was prepared to launch projectiles toward Israeli territory.

In Khan Yunis, IDF troops conducted targeted raids on terror infrastructure sites above and below the ground, locating large amounts of weaponry, including shoulder launched missiles, grenades, AK-47s and additional military equipment.
During one of the operations, the troops identified a terrorist cell that carried out a failed launch. Shortly after the identification, and in cooperation with the IAF, the terrorists were eliminated in a strike.

Furthermore, over the past day, IDF troops continued precise, intelligence-based operational activity in the Rafah area. They conducted targeted raids on several military infrastructure sites and eliminated armed terrorist cells. Over the past two days, the troops eliminated dozens of terrorists.

IDF: The Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, the Commanding Officer of the Northern Command, the Head of the Operations Directorate, the Commanding Officer of the IAF, and other members of the General Staff Forum, are currently conducting a situational assessment following the recent missile launches at Majdal Shams and other areas of northern Israel.

It is important to note that the projectile launched at Majdal Shams was a rocket, not a suspicious aerial target.

IDF: According to an IDF situational assessment and the intelligence in our possession, the rocket launch toward Majdal Shams was carried out by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.

The Hezbollah terrorist organization is behind the rocket launch at a soccer field in Majdal Shams which caused multiple civilian casualties, including children, earlier this evening.

IDF: The Commanding Officer of the 210th Divison, BG Yair Peli, is currently holding a situational assessment at the operations center in Majdal Shams, along with the commander of the Home Front Center in the Northern Command and additional commanders, following the attack on the area.

IDF: From the analysis of the IDF’s operational systems, the rocket launch at the center of Majdal Shams was carried out from an area located north of the village of Chebaa in southern Lebanon.

According to reliable intelligence information in the possession of the IDF, Hezbollah is behind the attack.

IDF: “This evening, the Hezbollah terrorist organization in Lebanon fired a rocket at children playing soccer on a soccer field in Majdal Shams in northern Israel.
Hezbollah then lied to the whole world and claimed they did not carry out this attack.
This is a lie.”
