We have come to Beit Lid because our soldiers are here and to ensure that nothing more severe happens. The arrival of rioters and attempts to break into bases are serious, unlawful behaviors bordering on anarchy, harming the IDF, the security of the state, and the war effort.”

This evening (Monday), the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, arrived at the Beit Lid base and held a situational assessment following the attempts to break into the base with the Head of the Manpower Directorate (J1), MG Yaniv Asor, the Chief Officer of the Military Police, BG Avihai Meivar and other commanders.

IDF: Today (Tuesday), the Military Prosecutor filed an indictment against a reservist for several offenses of abuse under aggravated circumstances and inappropriate behavior.

The indictment alleges that in several incidents during the months of February-June 2024, while securing the travel of security detainees, the defendant used severe violence against the detainees he was entrusted with guarding.

During some of the trips, despite no threat from the security detainees, and while the detainees were handcuffed and blindfolded, the defendant hit them, some of the times using a club and another time using his personal weapon. The defendant did all of this while documenting the acts in videos.

The IDF operates and will continue to operate out of a deep commitment to the rule of law, and complies with its obligations to Israeli and international law.

IDF: Initial report- the IDF carried out a targeted strike in Beirut, on the commander responsible for the murder of the children in Majdal Shams and the killing of numerous additional Israeli civilians. At the moment, there are no changes in the Home Front Command defensive guidelines. If any changes will be made, an update will be released.
Details to follow.
