IDF: Dozens of Iranian UAVs Intercepted With Electronic Warfare During Operation “Rising Lion”
Since the beginning of Operation “Rising Lion,” soldiers from the Spectrum Warfare 5114th Battalion in the J6 and Cyber Defense Directorate played a significant role in defending the State of Israel against UAVs launched from Iran.
In recent days, the soldiers thwarted dozens of attempted infiltrations by hostile aircraft using electronic warfare. This activity constitutes an additional layer of defense leveraging advanced technological means to detect and neutralize aerial threats in real time.
The IDF and the J6 and Cyber Defense Directorate will continue to leverage spectrum warfare to protect the residents of the State of Israel.
From the remarks of the Commander of the 5114th Battalion at the Spectrum Warfare Center, LTC B:
“Soldiers, researchers, and support personnel of the Spectrum Warfare Battalion of the J6 and Cyber Defense Directorate assist in the mission of defending the skies against hostile aircraft that infiltrate and are launched toward the State of Israel. In recent days, we thwarted dozens of such infiltration attempts using advanced electronic warfare systems.
The UAVs arrive from Iranian territory into Israel and we help intercept them on an ongoing basis. These interceptions form an additional and important layer of defense that contributes to the protection of Israel’s skies. Every UAV we manage to stop helps protect our civilians, our residents, and our strategic assets. We will continue to operate at all times to protect the residents of the country.”

IDF: Commanding Officer of the Southern Command: “We cannot tolerate Hamas here — we will not end this war until the threat has been eliminated. It is this campaign which brings us closer to returning the hostages”
Commanding Officer of the Southern Command MG Yaniv Asor met today (Monday) with soldiers from the 252nd Division. MG Asor emphasized the importance of the ongoing operations in the Gaza Strip alongside Operation “Rising Lion,” and the centrality of the IDF’s ultimate goal of defeating Hamas and returning all the hostages.
Commanding Officer of the Southern Command MG Yaniv Asor:
“Since October 7th, we have been at war — a war for our right to live as a free people in our country, a war to preserve the Jewish homeland. These are historic days in which we are initiating, we are surprising, we are daring, and we are striking Iran—the head of the snake.
We cannot tolerate Hamas here — we will not end this war until the threat has been eliminated. It is this campaign which brings us closer to returning the hostages and the fallen. I fully believe that we will not stop until we bring our living brothers and sisters home. This mission lives deep within us.
With a spirit of initiative and offense, determination and perseverance — unrelenting perseverance — we will not stop until you have taken these ridges, the ridge that overlooks Gaza and dramatically improves our ability to protect Netivot, Sderot, Ofakim, Sa’ad, Kibbutz Gaza, Alumim, and Nahal Oz.
When civilians look up to this ridge, they see the Israeli flag, they see IDF posts, and they feel safe enough to return. We will not stop until we defeat Hamas and bring our hostages home.”
