IDF: The Chief of the General Staff in Rafah: We are approaching the point where we can say we have dismantled the Rafah Brigade

Last night (Sunday), the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, conducted a situational assessment in the Rafah area of the Gaza Strip with the Commanding Officer of the Southern Command, MG Yaron Finkelman, the Commanding Officer of the 162nd Division, BG Itzik Cohen, battalion commanders, and additional commanders.

Attached are the full remarks of the Chief of the General Staff: “We have very high levels of achievements from the combat in Rafah, and I express great appreciation for that. This is reflected in the amount of terrorists that have been eliminated, as well as the infrastructure destroyed, the underground tunnel routes, its mapping, its destruction, and the progress in the complex underground combat. The fact that the 162nd Division now controls the Philadelphi Corridor from the sea to the border between Israel, Gaza, and Egypt, is very significant in cutting off Hamas’ supply for future smuggling. We are now dealing with the underground assets. We are clearly approaching the point where we can say we have dismantled the Rafah Brigade, that it is defeated not in the sense that there are no more terrorists, but in the sense that it can no longer function as a fighting unit. It has suffered many casualties, and you will ensure until the completion of the mission here, to eliminate as many terrorists and destroy as much terrorist infrastructure as possible going forward. With great appreciation, what is happening here is very impressive professionally, keep it up.”

IDF: Following the siren that sounded a short while ago regarding a hostile aircraft infiltration in northern Israel, a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanon was successfully intercepted by the IDF Aerial Defense Array. No injuries were reported.

Over the past few hours, IAF fighter jets struck terrorist infrastructure used by Hezbollah’s Aerial Defense Array in the area of Baalbek in Lebanon.

In addition, earlier today, IAF fighter jets struck Hezbollah infrastructure in the areas of Aitaroun, Blida, and Maroun El Ras in southern Lebanon.

Following the siren that sounded regarding rocket and missile launches in northern Israel, it was determined to be a false identification.

IDF: The IDF struck terrorists operating inside two structures in the northern Gaza Strip overnight, including terrorists involved in holding hostages captive and the October 7th Massacre

Overnight (Monday), with the intelligence direction of the IDF and ISA, the IAF struck two structures that were being used by Hamas terrorists in Shati and Daraj Tuffah in the northern Gaza Strip. The terrorists operated inside school compounds that were used by Hamas as a shield for its terrorist activities.

The terrorist operatives were involved in the planning of numerous terror attacks against Israel, and some of the terrorists were involved in holding hostages captive and took part in the October 7th Massacre.

In preparation for the strike, aerial surveillance checks, precise munitions, and additional intelligence measures were all used in order to mitigate harm to civilians.

The Hamas terrorist organization continuously violates international law by systematically exploiting civilian structures and using the civilian population as human shields for its terror activity against Israel.
