IDF Updates – June 5th

During the incident in which Master Sergeant (Res.) Alon Farkas fell, a reserve soldier in the 6646th Reconnaissance Battalion, 646th Brigade was severely injured.

The soldier was evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment, and his family has been notified.


Joint IDF, ISA and Israel Police Announcement:

Overnight (Wednesday), the IDF, Israel Border Police, and the ISA conducted a counterterrorism operation in the areas of Tamun and Al Fara.

As part of the activity, nine wanted individuals were apprehended with direction of ISA intelligence, among them were key weapons dealers. One of the apprehended suspects was the weapons dealer who provided the weapon to the terrorist who carried out the shooting toward IDF soldiers at the Homesh military post.
Additionally, an M-16 rifle was located and confiscated during searches, along with additional weapons.

Furthermore, over the past day, Israeli security forces operated throughout Judea and Samaria, apprehended 15 wanted individuals and confiscated seven weapons.

The suspects who were apprehended and the confiscated weapons were transferred to the ISA and Israel Police for further questioning. No IDF injuries were reported.

IDF: Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted. 
Sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol.


IDF: Initial report – The IDF is currently striking terror targets of the Hezbollah Aerial Unit (127) in Dahieh in Beirut.
