Since yesterday (Wednesday), forces of the IDF Search and Rescue Brigade and the Jerusalem and Central Districts, along with approximately 50 firetrucks of the Homefront Command and the Technological and Logistics Directorate were dispatched to the locations of the fires alongside Fire and Rescue service teams that were sent to the area of the fire in the Jerusalem Hills.
Overnight, dozens of engineering vehicles started operating throughout the country to form fire lines to prevent the fire from spreading into other areas.
Additionally, the Technological and Logistics Directorate supplied water tanks containing approximately 300 thousand liters of water to the operating teams.
The IAF continues assisting in the effort to extinguish the fires, IAF firefighting teams and firetrucks are operating alongside the “Shimshon” aircraft which operated during the night, and dropped over 95 fire retardant materials as part of the effort.
The IAF’s Intelligence Group established a special gathering team that investigated the locations of the fires and worked in collaboration to assist in locating locations of fires and direct efforts to extinguish them.
