IDF: Commanding Officer of the Northern Command: “We are operating under the overall goal of creating the conditions for the safe return of the northern residents to their homes. This is the basis of Northern Command’s objective — to protect the residents.”

The Commanding Officer of the Northern Command, MG Ori Gordin, conducted a situational assessment and field tour yesterday (Tuesday) with the Commanding Officer of the Northern Corps and the Maneuvering Unit in the Ground Forces, MG Dan Goldfus, Commanding Officer of the 98th Division, BG Guy Levy, and Commanding Officer of the 7th Brigade, COL Elad Tzuri, regarding the division’s ground operations in new objectives in southern Lebanon.

During the assessment, the commanders discussed the importance of the forces’ actions on the ground in creating the necessary conditions for the safe return of northern residents to their homes. They expressed great appreciation for the efforts of both reservists and active-duty personnel and approved plans for continued operations.

Commanding Officer of the Northern Command MG Ori Gordin: “We are in the middle of an offensive in this area. There are very good achievements so far and you have a big role in this. It begins with our firepower targeting the organization’s firepower capabilities, which have been dramatically reduced. We are operating under the overall goal of creating the conditions for the safe return of the northern residents to their homes. This is an important, moral goal, and the basis of Northern Command’s objective — to protect the residents. In my view, it’s hard to overstate the contribution, the quality, and the impressive willingness you demonstrate at every moment. Every one of you has set aside something important — whether it be your wedding date, the birth of your children, an exam at school, or a major project at work. All these things are deeply meaningful to all of you, and you’ve put them aside. This is just one example of your dedication, your pursuit of values, and the essence of Israeli society, which is so vital. For this, once again, my deep appreciation. And we must continuously express our gratitude to everyone involved.”

IDF: Two Hezbollah Commanders Responsible for Missile Attacks Against Northern Israel Were Eliminated

On Sunday, the IAF eliminated the commanders of Hezbollah’s anti-tank missile and operations unit in the coastal sector. They were responsible for terror attacks against Israeli civilians, including missile attacks on civilian communities in the Western Galilee area and the coastal plain in Israel.

The elimination of these commanders further degrade Hezbollah’s ability to carry out terror attacks from southern Lebanon against Israeli civilians.

Additionally, IDF troops are continuing limited, localized, targeted raids in southern Lebanon to remove threats to Israeli civilians. The forces located weapons storage facilities and struck terrorist command centers and sites during joint ground and aerial activity.

Over the past day, the IAF struck over 100 terror targets in Lebanon, including launchers, weapons storage facilities, command centers, and military structures.

Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi:
“Our mission here is clear—to return the residents of northern Israel to their homes safely. The enemy poses a threat on Metula and targets Kiryat Shmona, and you are here, operating with determination and professionalism with substantial achievements, to ensure the safe return of the residents of the towns of Metula, Kiryat Shmona, Misgav Am, and Kfar Yuval to their homes, and that’s important.

Every infrastructure, like the weapons storage facility you showed here, and every anti-tank missile and surface-to-surface rocket post that is destroyed brings us closer to our goal—heavily damaging Hezbollah. I’d like to say something regarding the cooperation with the Air Force. Tomer, I do not know when, in the history of the Air Force, the Commanding Officer of the Israeli Air Force met with commanding officers of divisions in the battlefield, at—to my knowledge—the furthest point we’ve entered in Lebanon, away from the border. This does not demonstrate some sort of curiosity, but shows professionalism and partnership. It indicates the presence of Air Force staff, which I see in my operational approvals every day. I’m very aware of your needs, the details, understanding how we do things correctly, and I think we have jumped to a very, very significant level in this matter. We need to continue to do things correctly, accurately, and professionally. This will give us the confidence to go further forward.”
