IDF Updates – October 12th

IDF: Following the sirens that sounded between 10:05 and 10:06 in the Central Galilee area, a projectile that crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory was successfully intercepted by the IAF.


IDF: Following the sirens that sounded between 10:55 and 10:56 in the Upper Galilee area, a number of projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory and were successfully intercepted.


IDF: Following the sirens that sounded between 12:15 and 12:25 in the Upper Galilee area, approximately 30 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the projectiles were intercepted. Fallen projectiles were identified in the area.


IDF: Following the sirens that sounded between 13:06 and 13:07 in the areas of the Carmel, Haifa Bay, and Menashe, two projectiles that crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory were successfully intercepted by the IAF.


IDF: As of 15:00, approximately 40 projectiles that were fired by the Hezbollah terrorist organization have crossed from Lebanon into Israel today (Saturday, October 12th).

The IDF will continue to defend the State of Israel and its people against the threat posed by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.


IDF: Following the sirens that sounded between 15:13 and 15:17 in the areas of the Haifa Bay and the Upper Galilee, approximately 35 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the projectiles were intercepted. Fallen projectiles were identified in the area.


IDF: Following the sirens that sounded between 16:48 and 16:51 in the Upper Galilee area, approximately 15 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the projectiles were intercepted. Fallen projectiles were identified.

Following the sirens that sounded at 16:59 in the Upper Galilee area, a projectile was identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory and falling in an open area.


IDF: Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in the area of Ashkelon, two projectiles were identified crossing from the northern Gaza Strip and falling in an open area. No injuries were reported.


IDF: Throughout the weekend of Yom Kippur, approximately 320 projectiles that were fired by the Hezbollah terrorist organization crossed from Lebanon into Israel (Saturday, October 12th).

The IDF will continue to defend the State of Israel and its people against the threat posed by the Hezbollah terrorist organization.


IDF: A Combat Officer from the School of Combat Engineering was severely injured today (Saturday) during combat in the southern Gaza Strip.

In a separate incident, a soldier in reserves from the 9203 Battalion, 3rd Brigade, was severely injured yesterday (Friday) during combat in southern Lebanon.

The soldiers were evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment. Their families have been notified.


IDF: Following a situational assessment, it was determined that as of today (Saturday) at 20:00, changes will be made to the Home Front Command’s defensive guidelines.

As part of the changes, it was decided that in the areas of the southern and northern Golan (besides certain communities in the Emek HaYarden Regional Council), the activity scale will be changed from Limited Activity to Partial Activity, meaning educational activities can be held subject to the Northern Command’s guidelines.
In addition, in the communities of Daliyat al-Karmel and Isfiya in the area of the Carmel, the activity scale will be changed from Partial Activity to Full Activity with a restriction on gatherings of over 2000 people.

The rest of the country’s guidelines remain unchanged.

IDF: IDF Operations in Lebanon and Gaza Over the Weekend: Dozens of Terrorist Eliminated from the Ground and from the Air, the IAF Struck Approximately 280 Terror Targets

Over the past day, IDF troops conducted precise operations against Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure and terrorists in southern Lebanon.
The troops eliminated 50 terrorists during close-quarter encounters and aerial strikes, and dismantled approximately 200 Hezbollah terror targets in aerial and IDF artillery strikes.

During operational activity in the area, the troops located underground tunnel shafts, dozens of terrorist infrastructure sites in which weapons were stored, rocket launchers, mortars and anti-tank missiles that were aimed toward communities in northern Israel and the troops operating in the area.
Additionally, the troops located combat equipment, weapons, and munitions belonging to Hezbollah terrorists.

Furthermore, the IAF struck deep in Lebanon and in southern Lebanon and dismantled dozens of rocket and surface-to-surface missile launchers, most of which were used to fire projectiles toward Israeli territory over the past weekend.
In addition, the IAF struck a Hezbollah underground terrorist infrastructure site in which weapons were stored at the Lebanon-Syria border.

Simultaneously, IDF troops continued to operate throughout the Gaza Strip, dismantling terrorist infrastructure and eliminating dozens of terrorists.
In the Jabaliya area, over 20 terrorists were eliminated over the past day by means of tank fire, close range exchanges of fire and aerial strikes. Since the start of the current operational activity in the area, the troops have eliminated approximately 200 terrorists.

In the central Gaza Strip, the troops eliminated several terrorist cells, including terrorists involved in firing anti-tank missiles toward the troops.
In the Rafah area, the troops eliminated a number of terrorists who were operating with the purpose of attacking the troops.

Over the past weekend, the IAF struck approximately 280 terror targets belonging to both Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Among these targets were underground terror infrastructure sites, weapons storage facilities, military command centers, terrorist cells, and additional terrorist infrastructure sites.

The forces continue to be deployed and prepared on all fronts.

IDF: Following a situational assessment, the areas of Zar’it, Shomera, Shtula, Netu’a, and Even Menachem in northern Israel will be declared a closed military zone as of 20:00 today (Saturday). Entry to this area is prohibited.

IDF: A short while ago, a suspicious aerial target was identified approaching Israeli territory from the Red Sea area. The incident has concluded. The target did not cross into Israeli territory.


IDF: Following the sirens that sounded between 23:21 and 23:22 in the Upper Galilee area, approximately 25 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the projectiles were intercepted and the rest fell in open areas.

In addition, following the sirens that sounded between 23:27 and 23:28 in the Upper Galilee area, approximately 15 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory. Some of the projectiles were intercepted and the rest fell in open areas.


IDF: A short while ago, the IAF intercepted a suspicious aerial target that crossed from Lebanon into Israeli territory in the coastal area of Nahariya.
No sirens were sounded in accordance with protocol.
