IDF: Earlier this morning (Sunday), the IAF conducted an intelligence-based strike on a command center of Hezbollah’s intelligence headquarters and an underground weapons workshop in Beirut.
Prior to the strike, numerous steps were taken to mitigate the risk of harming civilians, including issuing advanced warnings to the population in the area.
Additionally, the IAF, directed by IDF intelligence, struck and eliminated the terrorist Al-Haj Abbas Salama in the area of Tebnine, a senior commander in Hezbollah’s Southern Front. Salama oversaw combat in the Bint Jbeil area and executed many terror attacks against the State of Israel. Furthermore, Salama served in a number of positions in Hezbollah’s Southern Front over the years.
Additionally, the terrorists Rada Abbas Awada and Ahmad Ali Hussein were eliminated. Awada was a senior Hezbollah communications expert and Hussein served as the head of a weapons manufacturing unit that was responsible for the build-up of Hezbollah’s strategic weaponry, following in-depth manufacturing training in Iran.
These eliminations are part of the IDF and security forces’ extensive efforts to thwart the build-up of Hezbollah’s weapons stockpiles, which are intended to harm the IDF’s capabilities to defend the State of Israel.

IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari:
”In the past 24 hours, dozens of projectiles have been fired at northern Israel. In the next minutes, we will issue an advance evacuation warning to residents of Beirut and other areas in Lebanon to evacuate locations being used to finance Hezbollah’s terror activities.”
Please find attached the video statement by the IDF Spokesperson, Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari: https://bit.ly/3NEvcmx
Attached is a full transcript of the statement:
Today, during an encounter in northern Gaza in the Jabaliya area, the Commander of the 401st Brigade, Colonel Ahsan Daksa, fell in combat. During the same incident, a battalion commander was seriously injured, and two additional officers were lightly injured. The commanders were in the field in tanks, exited to observe the area, and were struck by an explosive while outside the tank.
Since the first day of the war, the soldiers and commanders of the 401st Brigade have been fighting in Gaza, leading the entry into northern Gaza, then Rafah, and now Jabaliya. Ahsan was an outstanding officer and a humble warrior who served in various combat positions within the Armored Corps. He was previously awarded a Chief of the General Staff Citation for his bravery during the Second Lebanon War, when he evacuated wounded soldiers under fire. On October 7th, he left his studies and arrived immediately to the fighting in the south and has fought ever since. He assumed command of the 401st Brigade about four months ago. He led the fighting in Tel al-Sultan in Rafah shortly after taking command, commanding the brigade’s efforts in defeating a Hamas battalion and leading the encirclements of the area and the elimination of many terrorists, which most likely prevented Sinwar’s escape before his elimination. He continued leading the brigade in the ongoing battle in Jabaliya, where they remain engaged. Ahsan led from the front and fell while leading his troops.
Ahsan, 41, left behind a wife and three children. In the past few hours, IDF representatives delivered the tragic news to his family in Daliyat al-Karmel. We extend our deepest condolences to them during this difficult time and will continue to accompany them.
Tonight, we are reminded once again of the heavy toll of this war. We salute the fallen and their families, who bear the pain and loss. We will do everything possible to provide support and comfort in these trying times.
The commanders of the 401st Brigade will continue to fight and are currently leading the operations in Gaza. Colonel Meir Biderman, who has served as Deputy Commander of the 162nd Division, will assume Ahsan’s position.
In the past 24 hours, dozens of projectiles have been fired at northern Israel. In the next minutes, we will issue an advance evacuation warning to residents of Beirut and other areas in Lebanon to evacuate locations being used to finance Hezbollah’s terror activities. I emphasize here—anyone located near sites used to fund Hezbollah’s terror activities must move away from these locations immediately.
We will strike several targets in the coming hours and additional targets throughout the night.
In the coming days, we will reveal how Iran funds Hezbollah’s terror activities by using civilian institutions, associations, and NGOs that act as fronts for terrorism.
We will carry out these strikes tonight and provide updates on the results in the next days.
IDF: Tunnel Shafts and Weapons Located by Troops of the Golani Brigade in Southern Lebanon
Golani Brigade troops are currently conducting limited, localized, targeted ground raids based on precise intelligence in southern Lebanon. To date, these operations have resulted in the elimination of approximately 60 terrorists through both the ground and hundreds of airstrikes. The troops located and destroyed dozens of Hezbollah’s above- and below-ground terror infrastructure, dozens of tunnel shafts, hundreds of enemy weapons deployed along the border, and seized intelligence documents left behind by the terrorists.
In recent days, the Golani Reconnaissance Battalion has engaged in intense close-quarters combat, during which many terrorists were eliminated. In one encounter last week (Wednesday), soldiers operated in underground infrastructure where a tunnel shaft containing numerous enemy weapons was discovered. During scans in the location, the troops eliminated four terrorists who were barricaded in the underground infrastructure.
During the encounter, five soldiers and commanders from the Golani Reconnaissance Battalion fell: Major Ofek Bachar, Captain Elad Siman Tov, First Sergeant Elyashiv Eitan Wieder, First Sergeant Yakov Hillel, and First Sergeant Yehudah Dror Yahalom. The IDF embraces the families and will continue to accompany them.
