During the incident in which Captain (res.) Rabbi Avraham Yosef Goldberg, Master Sergeant (res.) Gilad Elmaliach, Captain (res.) Amit Chayut and Major (res.) Eliav Amram Abitbol fell, three reservists and a soldier in the 8207th Battalion, and a Combat Engineering Officer, 228th Brigade (Alon) were severely injured.
All of the soldiers were evacuated to a hospital to receive medical treatment and their families have been notified.
IDF: On Friday, with the direction of IDF intelligence, the IAF struck and eliminated the terrorist Ahmed Jafar Maatouk, the commander of Hezbollah’s Bint Jbeil area.
A day later, directed by IDF intelligence, the IAF struck and eliminated his successor. Additionally, Hezbollah’s head of artillery in the Bint Jbeil area was eliminated in the strike.
These terrorists directed and carried out numerous terror attacks from the Bint Jbeil area including launching anti-tank missiles toward Israeli civilians and IDF troops operating in southern Lebanon.
The IDF will continue to operate against Hezbollah terrorists and commanders in defense of the citizens of Israel.
IDF: Following the sirens that sounded between 15:29 and 15:34 in the Western Galilee area, interceptors were launched toward a suspicious aerial target. The target was subsequently determined to be a false identification.
Sirens regarding rocket and missile launches were activated due to the possibility of falling shrapnel from the interception.
