IDF: Weapons Belonging to Hezbollah’s Anti-Ship Missile Unit Embedded Beneath Civilian Buildings in Beirut were Struck by the IDF; These Weapons Posed a Threat to International Maritime Routes, Freedom of Navigation, and Israel’s Strategic Assets in the Region

With precise intelligence guidance from the Israeli Navy and the Intelligence Directorate, Israeli Air Force fighter jets struck Hezbollah anti-ship missile storage facilities, which were embedded beneath six different civilian buildings in the heart of the Dahieh in Beirut.

For years, the Hezbollah terrorist organization built and developed a precision-guided anti-ship missiles systems, originating from Iran, that were aimed at threatening international maritime freedom and the strategic assets of Israel and the region. These missiles have ranges of hundreds of kilometers.

The missiles targeted were stored in underground storage facilities, concealed beneath residential buildings under a civilian guise, and they were intended to be mobilized and fired within minutes.

This is yet another example of Hezbollah’s operational tactics, using Lebanese civilians as human shields for its terrorist activities.

The IDF continues to operate forcefully to degrade Hezbollah’s capabilities, which threaten the citizens of Israel and the entire region.

IDF: “Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of an evil terrorist organization; the senior terrorists eliminated with him, and the central headquarters they were in, were legitimate military targets under international law. Nasrallah intentionally built Hezbollah’s central headquarters under residential buildings in Dahiya, Beirut—because Hezbollah intentionally uses Lebanese civilians as human shields. While Hezbollah seeks to maximize civilian harm, Israel seeks to minimize it.”

IDF: Targeting Hezbollah’s Force Build-Up: The IDF Struck Weapons Production Sites and Smuggling Routes on the Syria-Lebanon Border

For years, the Hezbollah terrorist organization has systematically operated to build up its capabilities and increase its stockpile of weapons. Weapons and components have been smuggled from the east into Lebanon and delivered to manufacturing sites, where a range of weapons are produced—including precision-guided missiles—to be used in attacks against the State of Israel.

Last night, following precise intelligence, the IDF intensified its operations against Hezbollah’s force build-up through a series of targeted strikes on key weapons manufacturing sites. These included a facility used to produce and assemble missile and rocket launchers in southern Lebanon, as well as another site in the Beqaa Valley that was intended to support Hezbollah’s force build-up efforts.

These strikes follow IDF strikes earlier this week (Thursday) on several smuggling routes used to transfer weapons from Syria into Lebanon.

The IDF is continuing to act to degrade Hezbollah’s capabilities, which pose a threat to the citizens of Israel and the entire region.

IDF: The IDF Eliminated a Senior Terrorist from Hezbollah’s Intelligence Array who was Responsible for the Identification of Civilian and Military Targets

Earlier this afternoon (Saturday), with the direction of the IDF Intelligence Directorate, the IAF eliminated Hassan Khalil Yassin, a senior terrorist in Hezbollah’s intelligence array, in a strike in the Dahieh area of Beirut. Yassin stood at the head of a department responsible for the identification of civilian and military targets, on the northern border and deep within Israeli territory.

As part of his role, Yassin collaborated intensely with all of Hezbollah’s offensive units, was personally involved in the planning of terror attacks that were executed during the war against Israeli civilians and soldiers, and planned additional attacks to be carried out in the coming days.

A Message from Shalom
