Judah – Day 7 – Friday, October 13, 2023

Day 7 :

I sit here writing this content with tears down my eyes.

My 2-year-old and 5-year-old girls are running around playing with their dolls and I should be feeling joy.

But instead of joy, I am feeling broken.

I just saw the most horrifying image of my life.

The daily telegraph published the picture of a 2-year-old Israeli baby who was shot from point blank by the terrorists on Saturday.

The baby could be any of ours, and the monsters just went ahead and executed the baby….

I am putting the link here and you could read the article without seeing the picture, however there is an option to see the picture if you wish to.

This picture is as authentic as it is, published by the government so that the world could see what we are fighting against.

In the meantime, while the whole world sees what we are fighting against, the Israeli Airforce is sending out warnings to the people in northern Gaza to evacuate south warning that they are going to heavily bomb the Hamas buildings and tunnels in the area.

Why are they sending these messages? Well, Israel has always been a moral country with a moral army.

We warn innocent civilians to get out of harm’s way even at the cost of the terrorists getting away.

Contrary to Hamas, Israel will always try and save innocent people from harm’s way.

The brutality and Pogrom style killings this last week have changed the ethos across Israel that maybe it is time to take off the gloves when it comes to the terrorists.

On Saturday and Sunday of this week, Israeli soldiers ranging from 20-year-olds, all the way up to reserve soldiers in their 60’s formed improvised teams and fenced off hundreds of terrorists sometimes fighting at an outnumbered ratio of 1 to 4.

When the war is over, we will hear many stories of heroism and numerous medals of honor will be award for the actions of these people putting their life on the line for people they never met.

Over the last 24 hours we had 2 people from our neighborhood killed in battle.

There is a ban on large gatherings due to the rocket fire, so there was an improvised ceremony around the neighborhood where the fallen soldier was driven around while people standing outside their house singing the Israeli anthem before the entourage continued to the actual burial.

“As long as the Jewish spirit is yearning deep in the heart, with eyes turned toward the East, looking toward Zion, then our hope -‐ the two-‐thousand-‐year-‐old hope -‐ will not be lost: To be a free people in our land, The land of Zion and Jerusalem.”

There is a saying used amongst the Jews relating to the holocaust;” Never again.”

Out of this notion was born one of the strongest and most capable militaries in the world.

We were surprised with the first few days of attacks, but very quickly regrouped as the country came together to make sure Israel is the one who decides how this war ends.

It is clear that it will end with the destruction of Hamas in Gaza.

I am hopeful that with every day of fighting, we come closer to a day of peace. Real peace amongst good people no matter of religion, color, or nationality.

IT is time for this world to find the peace that we all yearn for, but before peace comes we need to destroy the evil.

Hoping for a quiet weekend and we will update more on Sunday.
